Are Nigerians Selling Their Kidneys for Money?



Nigerians, abroad have resulted in selling their organs, especially their kidneys, to some parts of Asia. Who is to be blamed for this? The global economic crisis or the Nigerian economy.

These Nigerians who live abroad, having difficulty in making ends meet, are actively seeking markets to sell their kidneys online and have been making journeys to countries in Asia, – Malaysia and India particularly, to sell usually just one of their two kidneys for over $30,000

 Vital blood filtering and red blood cell (RBC) generating organ, have become a lucrative business which pays from $30-$60,000.

It was discovered by researchers that donors of these kidneys, have an online net work with agents, vendors and hunters who they eventually sell their organs through. Read more after the cut


According to research done, these 'experts', evacuate the organs and ice-box them to the eager transplant centers, thriving with Asians, Middle Easterner’s and Europeans on the waiting list, hoping for that fresh, cheap paupers kidney.

Sellers pay these donors as little as $5,000 after undergoing such operations which leave some dead afterwards, a source revealed.
